This is a very good question and can be quite daunting, especially if you have pets that are inside and requires a sitter to enter your home.

However…
There is more to security than just that, so here are some other things I have in place..
I keep an eye on your mailbox (if it starts looking like it’s unattended) and rubbish bins (if they were put out before you left) and bring anything in that might look obvious that you are away.
Another very important aspect is that I have no advertising, either on my car or myself, that is a dead give away that I am a pet sitter – just in case anyone outside is looking on. My business then relies heavily on word of mouth. So if you like my style, tell others!
